Many of us are reluctant to undertake any but the simplest jobs involving electricity, and without question it is very foolhardy to dive in at the deep end and undertake a major job before gaining some experience.
However, while it is always worth while paying for expert skills and knowledge, the truth is that much of a professional's time is taken up with lifting floorboards, chopping out and repairing plaster work, and drilling holes in the wall etc.
With this in mind, it is a worthwhile money saver to undertake some of the groundwork yourself and simply use a professional electrician to handle the actual electrical installation work.
