Unfortunately you can’t tell if a tradesman is dodgy until they've started the job and by then it's too late if he/she has already wreaked havoc in your home.
That was until we came up with our cunning feedback tool that allows you to tell the world, and most importantly the people living in your local area, who’s good, and who’s not.
So visit our feedback centre to tell us that Simon the sparky and Charlie the chippy are really rather good! |

Who’d have thunk it? It turns out that a spot of DIY could be mistaken for a bit of a boozy night out on the town, with a considerable amount of lewd activity. Crikey!
We’ve created a definitive guide to put the record straight:
Not a slightly deranged individual revealing his nakedness from beneath a macintosh, but a thin metal strip used to prevent leakage at a roof joint.
Don't think "a collection of increasingly scantilly-clad ladies", but "a range of means to remove dried paint".
A door without one is rather tricky to open!
Rather more useful for your friends to let you know they're at your front door, and far less call for a brassiere.
A smooth finish on your interior walls achieved with a great deal of skill, and definitely no beers, wines and spirits.
There's nothing loose about this! This is the process of permanently afixing two surfaces together.

Just the other week we were perusing the best, fastest, longest, fattest and smallest at the Guinness Book of Records, and it turns out that there are some jolly daft record attempts, very few of which have anything to do with DIY.
Well, quite frankly we had to do something about that, and swiftly applied to set the record of the 'Fastest assembly of an Ikea Billy Bookcase using only hand tools'.
The chaps at the Book of Records get 60,000 record applications a year apparently, and this one was just not going to cut the mustard. So, we thought we’d run a bit of a competition for you, the home-improving public, to set us a challenge worthy of a World Record.
Send your ideas to us here at cunningplan@simplifydiy.com and there’s a prize for the best one!
Oooooh dedication's what you need!

Back in July, the Government made the decision to withdraw the proposed Home Information Packs (HIPs), that were due to become mandatory for all property vendors in July 2007, saving us £700 to boot.
They did, however, leave us with the Energy Efficiency Ratings to contend with, which, quite frankly, are a bit blinkin’ complicated.
Never fear, though! We’ve summarised what's required in the SimplifyDIY guide to Energy Efficiency Ratings.

Er, well yes, actually! Pulsar Advanced Technologies have developed a rather clever boiler that can heat gallons of water in seconds to supply showers, taps, washing machines and dishwashers simultaneously. This new boiler is small, lightweight, energy-efficient and does not require a hot water tank. The perfect solution!
Use the following links for advice on choosing a new boiler and for all plumbing & heating topics.
